My North Dakota Diary
Cass County
'Cass County was named for a former president of the Northern Pacific Railroad, George W. Cass. It lies
in the center of the far-famed Red River Valley, and in point of population and wealth, is the leading
county of the state. Fargo is the county seat, a thoroughly modern city with miles of paved streets, gas
and water mains. The North Dakota Agriculture college is located in Fargo.' Source: North Dakota Blue Book --
