My North Dakota Diary
Eddy County
'Eddy County was named in honor of E. B. Eddy who founded the First National Bank of Fargo, and was
for many years in active figure in the development of the eastern part of the state. This county is
located about the center of that part of the state lying east of the Missouri river. The land was first
taken up by sturdy emigrants from the Scandinavian countries, agricultural products are raised
successfully, as is also fruit of many varieties. New Rockford is the county seat.' Source: North Dakota Blue
