My North Dakota Diary
Grant County
'Grant County, the territory comprising Grant county, was the southern hald of old Morton county, and
the area is about forty-eight townships; it was segregated from Morton county and organized
November 28, 1916. The county was named in honor of President Grant. The Milwaukee Railway runs
through the entire county, also the Northern Pacific Railway. The soil is admirably adapted to mixed
farming stockraising, which are the principal industries. Carson is the county seat.' Source: North Dakota
