McIntosh County
'McIntosh County was named in honor of the Hon. E. H. McIntosh, a prominent member of the
territorial council in 1883, in which year the county was organized. Agriculture is the principal industry,
for which the rich prairie loam presents ideal conditions. Ashley is the county seat.' Source: North Dakota
