My North Dakota Diary
Sheridan County
'Sheridan County was so named in honor of Gen. Philip Sheridan and in its present form was created by
a vote of the people at an election held in the fall of 1908. In the earlier maps of the territory, the
county was shown in about its present shape, but was later absorbed by McLean county, to be again
created as noted above. The principal products are cereals. The stock industry is an extensive and
profitable one. McClusky is the county seat.' Source: North Dakota Blue Book -- 1942
